The HDD process is executed in three stages: drilling a small-diameter pilot hole along the planned path, then enlarging it using a Reamer to the required diameter, then pulling Butt Fusion-welded HDPE pipe back through the hole — all monitored by a radio wave guidance system to ensure path accuracy.
